I’m a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, with over 24 years expertise in working with adults and children with learning disability and neurodevelopmental differences. I worked within the NHS for 20 years as Clinical Psychology Lead for Children’s Disability and helping set up the Neurodevelopmental Team, before moving into private practice. I specialise in complex assessments particularly where young people have a learning disability in addition to neurodiversity.
I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with HCPC, an Executive Coach with Association for Coaching, am a member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists (ACP), and have been working at Consultant level for the last 17 years.
As Team Lead, my role is also to oversee all assessments we carry out and ensure they meet NICE guidelines standards for quality.
As part of your or your child's assessment, it is important to look at social use of language, and check for any underlying language problems. We have two experienced Speech and Language Therapists who are skilled at assessing subtle difficulties in understanding or self expression that can be part of the picture in autism and other developmental problems.
We also have an Occupational Therapist on the team who can offer dyspraxia assessments, sensory needs profiling, and help with adapting daily routines to minimise sensory overload.
The team are supported by Kate, our admin assistant, and she is happy to help you with any enquiries.
I’m a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist with over 20 years’ experience of working with children and adults with learning disability and neurodevelopmental disorders.
I can provide comprehensive assessment of language and communication, leading to a detailed report and communication profile. This will help you and others to gain a clearer understanding of your child’s language and communication needs and what support and strategies they need to communicate to the best of their abilities. A SALT assessment is often integral in identifying hidden language and communication difficulties that contribute to misunderstandings or behaviour that challenges. I can liaise with agencies and provide bespoke training packages around an individual to help those who support them understand their needs.
I work closely with Dr Rebecca Williams in providing autism assessments using Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS)

I am a registered Occupational Therapist with the Health Care Professions Council, and a member of the Royal Association of Occupational Therapy (RCOT). I can offer person centred assessment for neurodiversity, including autism, ADHD and dyspraxia. I provide a specific focus for occupational, functional, sensory and coordination needs.I work to create recommendations and a plan to address current needs, using evidence based approaches. I offer tailored therapeutic sessions to identify individual strengths and challenges and to develop an individual’s skills to address these identified needs.

My work has included carrying out neurodiversity assessments with children and adults, in both Welsh and English. I enjoy working collaboratively with people to complete complex assessments, helping them make sense of their strengths and difficulties, and providing clear, practical, and person-specific recommendations.
